Villa One |
Frangipani |
|
Made Sandi and I built this house in 1993. At the time there were only rice fields for neighbors, and of course, the river gorge.
The house was headquarters for my business, and rented during the months I was in America. Now it seems I am in America most of the time, sadly. Frangipani is currently rented long-term until November 2004, but will be available in future. The commanding view is the finest aspect of the property, and I designed the house to be as open as possible, with windows everywhere possible. Each floor has a bedroom and bath, and the lower floor has a fully equiped kitchen. ![]() |

The top floor is hardwood, as is the rest of the trim. The bamboo framework supporting the roof adds interest to the uppper level, while woven rattan from Borneo is used in wall panels above the sliding doors to provide ventilation and decoration.
Villa 1 (Frangipani) is set forward in the garden, with the pools and waterfalls flanking it. The view is spectacular, and the feeling is of being in a treehouse. |
