| There are literally thousands of small shops in and around Ubud. Most are directed at you, the visitor (Tamu). Many sell inexpensive crafts or clothing, but there are several fine arts galleries, antiques galleries, and fine clothing shops. In Ubud, there is truly something for everyone, from tribal art from Borneo to modern CDs.
Shops move, are renamed, go in and out of business. There are a few favorites I will list, but for the most part, if you walk around (jalan-jalan) and explore you will find treasures in abundance. |

Tino's Drug Store |
|
This is the best place to find food and drink for the kitchen, as well as personal items, first aid products, film, processing, books, office supplies... you get the idea. Tino's is as close as you'll find to a department store in Ubud. |
Murni's shops |
|
Murni's shops are fabulous. Her taste is exquisite and her sources are the best. For jewelry, textiles, tribal art and antiques and some furniture she is the best. The shops also stock a fine selection of soaps and candles.. |

| Shops come and go... Many of my favorites from one trip are not there the next... others are fixtures for many years. I need to do more current research... please let me know of any of your favorites, and I will add them to the list. | ||
