The Balinese are a friendly and curious folk, for the most part. They are as good (or bad) as anyone else, but their genuine interest and outgoing manner charms visitors. It is not unusual to have a Balinese strike up a conversation, to "practise English", and wind up insisting on you coming home to meet the family and at least enjoy a meal.
